David R. Foley is a full-time mediator and arbitrator, based in New York's Hudson Valley, who focuses on commercial, corporate, intellectual property, environmental and employment matters. He has been active as an arbitrator, mediator, neutral evaluator and advocate in a wide variety of  disputes over more than thirty years, during which he was a litigation partner in bi-coastal law firms, first in New York City and then in California’s Silicon Valley.

          Mr. Foley is currently a member of the panels of mediators, arbitrators, and early neutral evaluators of the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of New York, and a member of the panel of arbitrators and mediators of the National Arbitration Forum. He has served as a mediator in numerous, varied cases, involving commercial, unfair competition, trade secret, trademark, employment, environmental and real estate matters, among others.

          Mr. Foley has served as an arbitrator, including panel chairman, in many cases concerning commercial contracts, employment agreements, securities, environmental and accounting matters, as well as attorneys fee disputes. He is currently a member of the Roster of Neutral Arbitrators of the National Association of Securities Dealers (“NASD”, also known as “FINRA”), and he was a member of the National Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association for more than ten years. In addition, he is the author of published books and articles on arbitration and mediation, including co-author of the monograph, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Matthew Bender, 1999.
